Our story

Three generations of recipes, one kitchen on Linking Road

Spice Route began in 2009 when Chef Harjeet Anand brought his grandmother's handwritten recipe book from Amritsar to a 12-seat café in Bandra. The name comes from the trail of spices that shaped Indian cooking, and we still grind ours in-house every morning.

Dal simmers overnight. Breads are slapped onto the tandoor wall to order. Our biryani is sealed under dough and cooked dum, the slow way. No shortcuts, no pre-made gravies.

“The dal makhani tastes like it has been on the stove since morning, because it has. Butter naan arrives blistered and impossibly soft. This is the Indian restaurant I send every visiting friend to.”

“Biryani arrived hot, sealed and fragrant. Packed so well that the raita was still cold.”
